Rodney joined the Association in 1973, after having served with the Merchant Navy for a period of four years as a cadet and later as a Junior Navigating Officer. He gained an ACII (Marine). As a consultant Rodney is responsible for specific projects within the company.

Andrew obtained an LL.B from Aberdeen University. He worked for two and a half years with Seaforth Maritime, having responsibility for marine claims and insurance, hull and machinery as well as P&I. He joined MSMI in May 1983 and is now the NIML Director with responsibility for MSMI Claims.

Ian handles all types of claims. He spent thirteen years at sea on a variety of vessels and acquired a Master's Foreign Going Certificate. Obtained a BSc (Nautical Studies) and then spent six years in the Admiralty Department of Holman, Fenwick & Willan before joining MSMI in September, 1988. Obtained an LL.B in 1991.

Before joining MSMI in 1989 John was at sea with Cunard for fourteen years, obtaining his Master Mariner's Certificate in 1987. He has served on a variety of vessels, latterly as navigation/PR Officer on QE2 and Chief Officer on product carriers. After three years handling all types of P&I claims, John moved to the Underwriting Department in 1992, becoming a NIML Director in 2002. Since being with the Club he has obtained his ACII and in 1999 obtained a BA(Hons) in Insurance Management.

Savraj spent the first twelve years of his career at sea and was a Master for four years on bulk carriers and general cargo vessels. He has been ashore since 1987 and has worked with Shipowners/Managers as Marine Superintendent, Operations Manager before entering the insurance industry in 1995. Fellow of Institute of Chartered Ship Brokers and Nautical Institute, Savraj moved to underwriting after spending over a year in claims. He graduated from Northumbria University at Newcastle in 1998 with LL.B (Honours).

Iain is a qualified solicitor (6 years PQE) having recently joined MSMI from Eversheds, where he was an Associate in the Shipping and International Trade Department specialising in a wide range of maritime matters including admiralty, P&I and FD&D related work. Prior to qualifying as a lawyer Iain spent 11 years as a police officer where he reached the rank of Detective Sergeant and prior to that spent five years at sea as a deck officer serving on container ships, bulk carriers and oil tankers.

Ken joined MSMI in September 1988 after having previously been with average adjusters Richards Hogg in Glasgow for some thirteen years. He is primarily involved in all aspects of MSMI claims, dealing with the full range of hull and machinery matters. However, he also handles claims in respect of fixed and floating objects, pollution and admiralty matters for the North of England.

David spent eleven years with Denholm Ship Management on a variety of vessels, but mainly bulk carriers. He holds a Class II Deck Certificate and a BSc in Nautical Studies. He joined Newcastle P&I in 1994 working in the Claims Department. David moved to the Risk Management Department in 1998. He has special responsibility for Condition Surveys and deals with class and port state control issues.

Tony spent eighteen years at sea on cargo and container vessels. He joined the Association in 1999 and is head of the Risk Management Department, which coordinates the Association's Loss Prevention and Condition Survey programmes. He is a Master Mariner and has an MBA.
